Merry Christmas!!

The Christmas Wish

sung by Kermit the Frog

I don't know if you believe in Christmas

or if you have presents underneath a Christmas tree

but if you believe in lovethat will be more than enough

for you to come and celebrate with me

for I have held the precious gift that love brings

even though I never saw a Christmas star

I know there is a light I have felt it burn inside

and I have seen it shining from afar

Christmas is the time to come togethera time to put all differences aside

and I reach out my hand to the family of man

to share the joy I feel at Christmas time

for the truth that binds us all together

I would like to say a simple prayer

that at this special time you will have true peace of mind

and love to last throughout the coming year

and if you believe in love that will be more than enough

for peace to last throughout the coming year

and peace on earth will last throughout the year.

Merry Christmas!

Remember what its all about as you spend time with those you love today. ^^

Its that time of year again~

Its finally starting to feel like Christmas time to me, to the point that now it seems like its not coming fast enough, when just a few weeks ago it felt it was coming too fast. Its funny how things change like that.

Happy Christmastime!

Really getting ready.

Well, as it is every year, I somewhat drag my feet when it comes to decorating. Then I get out a box and begin going thru the contents, discovering old friends. Then I have a good time. Nora got me all set up with the Itunes on the computer, so I was having a good time decorating and listening to hundreds of hours of Christmas Music.

Ready For Christmas?

Hmm. I think not. But I must admit that the weather has helped in getting the mind ready immensely. We did however do something different this year. We packed up the boxes last year really well. So this year once a week a box or two, come down and we sort of play with it. This has helped with my overwhelm anxiety I would get seeing all the boxes come down at once.

This year we will have company from Michigan. Tom's Brother Rob, and his wife Yvonne. Here for about 10 days. That should be fun. Making cookies, sitting around the fireplace. Of course to them our 60 degree days would be a warm day to them. Why stay indoors? Boy you do get used to where you live huh. We also add a birthday to the celebration. Rob's Birthday is Dec 24, so we hope to have fun on that day as well.

Its been raining...

And its soo nice! I especially love these cool and rainy mornings when the fog sticks to the hills like this - so pretty and magical. :)

Enjoy your rain day maybe even talk a walk - if it lightens up a little more. (Another downpour just started here.)heh

Its still so pretty though.

Old Photo Sunday

Sarah Winn with her horse. Elnora's and Ruth's mother. This photo was a moment of embarrassment for me with my Mother -in -law. When she showed me this photo I said, " Your Mother was a horsewoman? " She gently told me, everyone had a horse for transportation. Oh the good old days huh.

Old Damaged Photo Sunday

This photo really shows the damage from the flood. This photo is of my Father, Nick. I will add more info after Mom sees it to see if we know how old he his, and what else might have been in the photo with him. Even with the damage, I can see my Dad in there, I am sad that it got ruined but I am happy that I have that little face.

Old Photo Sunday

These two beautiful ladies are Sisters. The year is 1944. This photo was damaged in the flood but still captures the moment in time.

I know you know who they are, they are related to Nicki. I am not sure if you can see the patch on the sweater on the girl on the right, but if you can, extra points for what it might mean.

Old Photo Sunday

Today's Sunday Photo comes from truly a mixed blessing. At Church today someone handed me a bag of photos and said I think these belong to you. I peeked inside and sure enough they did. It was a mixed bag of photos, some of Ben's Mission Photos, as well as some old black and whites. The mixed blessing part is due to the fact that so many of the photos were damaged quite a bit in the flood, but we are grateful for the ones that survived. Like this one. Enjoy. I love the cigar, it seems both my Grandpa's smoked cigars, as well as my Brother.

Old Photo Sunday

This photo is a recent find. It was discovered while going though the Young family things. Do you know who it is? All I will say is, that it is a photo of a brother and sister. Just a few years ago...right?

Well, I am impressed! Jen and Ben knew who it is. Tom's Brother Rob and Sister Margaret. I love the arm of probably their Mother helping out and the patch on Robbie's knee.

As promised!

Yay Disneyland! I find it funny how I went three times this summer within like a month and a half and I still would love to go back again any old time soon if I could.(as in had the $$) haha

So my third trip was taken with B & C, and Dad, we had a good day other than it being very very hot, but luckily Disneyland has lots of places to hide out from the heat for a while so we made it. heh

So now its picture time!

The day was started with some yummy mickey pancakes and healthy dose of syrup!

As well as some good slapstick comedy! (No I didn't actually poke him in the eye!)

After surviving some bad jokes in the jungle, going back in time, putting our lives in the hands of Ben's crazy adventurous driving and few other fun  things...

We had some lunch!

Er..I mean we had a snack! heh

After running around the island we cooled off with a nice mint julip! Yummy!

Aww like home!

Catherine was kind enough to remove something from Emperor Zurgs teeth.

Aww Ariel.
Big band and swing dancing at the Carnation Plaza. :]
Sea of legs. Whoo did we got fast.
And a good day was had by all!
PS Sorry for getting a little lazy towards the end...blogger wasn't being my friend...haha

Old Photo Sunday on Tuesday

This is a photo from the "unknown" photo box. We sure wish we knew who she was, but look at those beautiful flowers!

Anybody have any guesses of who she is or any good story ideas about her?

Nine-patch quilt

Today I received a card in the mail with a beautiful nine-patch quilt on it. I said to myself, I am gonna make THAT quilt. This is the first time since the flood that I have HAD that feeling. I "played" like I was making a quilt last Christmas. I was really learning how to use the machine. But this was the first time I had that full "lets get going in this" feeling. Funny how time takes you through many passages. I was really happy to go through this passage once again. Now to find that little spot in my day to pursue a pleasure.

Uh Oh I better catch up!

I'm back too I'm back TOO!
Okay...Well...I really have no excuse for not blogging these past few months other than wanting to wait until Mom was ready to start again. I had no setbacks like her...I was just lazy and uninspired. Yes how dare me. heh

So here's what I have to share with you tonight.

This here is the reason I haven't gone to bed yet. I can't stop watching her sleep! She's sooo cute. hahah
So coming soon should be a nice little blog about my last Disneyland trip. YES, get excited! Yay!

Finally!

I couldn't believe that it has only been 2 months since we last posted. It seems like a lot more. First it was because of the computer not working, then the time it took to purchase a new one, then the time to relearn the whole mess. But here I am.

Today, Nora and I went shopping, something that we have not done alot of lately. Afterward we watched the sunset in our favorite spot. When we returned we found Tom in the garage. Moving things around, oh me. But it worked out.

So here it is my big return to our Blog. Hopefully you haven't given up on us. More Sunday Photos to come for sure.
