New Years 4

The card reads:
May the New Year find your field green with the promise of a harvest of all good.

This postcard is postmarked Baltimore MD. Dated Dec. 30, 1914! That's almost 100 years old.

I am always drawn to pictures of roads, one can't help but wonder where they might lead. So it is as the New Year comes upon us all. Lets go down this road together.

Let the new Decade begin!

Christmas Recap Part 3

One of the best parts of Christmas is Christmas Day when the whole family gets together. This year we went to Ben and Catherine's home to make the Christmas Memories! I lovingly called their home the House with 2 living rooms. They had transformed their bedroom to a sitting area, complete with decorations. Lots of fun memories there for sure. As these photos show, I am really enjoying myself, just taking it easy.

Christmas Recap Part 2

Another fun day this Christmas was a day that Tom's sister Margaret and husband came to visit. What made this a really fun visit was a nice dinner at a resturant. I personally enjoyed the break. Also, we had some nice visit time at both Jen's and Ben's home. This photo shows the fun we had while waiting for two cameras to cycle thru their timers to take the picture. It was better than saying. CHEESE!!!!!

Christmas Recap Part 1

We would like to highlight the memorable moments this past season. This first memory has a bit of history to tell. This December, Tom and I celebrated 40 years since the first Christmas Dance we attended in 1969. So when looking for a photo, this one popped up. Its not from 1969, but 1971, at Nicki's Grad Nite at Disneyland. We had this photo taken on the back side of the castle. So we thought it would be fun to "recreate" it. Enjoy the following photos! This was a fun day at Disneyland, and a fun time just taking the photo.

The last few days of December

To wrap up the last week of December, we will display a few more cards. Perfect for the end of the year.

Yummy Recipe!

About a year ago I was given a recipe for some really yummy cookies. They were chocolate with caramel filling, made from pretty easily from cake mix and rolo's. :) As I was eating one of them I was struck with the thought of how yummy a cookie would be if it was filled with a minature reese's cup. So I started experimenting with the recipe.

So far I've made chocolate cookies with minature reeses cups, white cookies with candy cane kisses, and spice cookies with pumpkin spice kisses. With the same yummy results everytime. Basically, if the combination sounds like it will taste good, it will taste good, and this last experiment was yet another success! :)

I chose Red Velvet cake and hersey's hugs. :)

So first you take a box of cake mix and stir in 2 eggs and 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, which turns the cake mix into a thick dough. Then you chill it in the fridge for a bit so it doesn't get gooey in your hands too fast. (Yup you're gonna get to play with it. haha)

Then you unwrap your candy of choice and roll then into balls of dough. This process always brings me back to playing with play dough as a kid, its fun!

You then dip the top in some sugar.

And put them on their trays to cook at 350degrees for approximately 10 minutes. ;)

Then you gobble a few down while they're still warm! (Don't forget some milk!)

Mmmm another success!

Enjoy! And let me know what yummy combinations you come up with. :)
